Pojega Valpolicella Ripasso 2006

I was impressed with the well preserved body after 10 years! the main characteristics were still present, with silky but still active tannins. Nose of red berries jam and hints of oak spices; warm and spicy on the palate, it is ideal with lamb, stews or with a good ragout of Angus or Chianina.
Unusual for a Ripasso to have such a longevity , it has probably its peak after 5/6 years from the vintage.
